Lamborghini Aventador: The flagship Lamborghini, which is fast as a rocket missile!

For those unaware, the Aventador – as the title reads – is the flagship model from Lamborghini in India. Aerodynamics, weight reductions, and mindboggling speed are just a few terms that are synonymous with the car you see above.

But what makes it special is the way it looks. It looks damn glued to the road even while standing still. And, of course, it turns heads wherever it goes. The hunkered-down stance, massive alloy wheels replete with low profile rubber, upward-opening doors, a huge rear wing, and skirting that runs through the whole car just makes the Aventador special and extremely desirable. While it may look similar to its smaller-capacity siblings, keen enthusiasts can’t mistake it for anything else.

Then there’s the V12 engine mounted at the rear. Sure, this means that the Aventador is strictly a two-seater, but it never posed as a family car, did it now? When fired up, the growl from this V12 is simply music to the years, and when revved to the redline, the growl only gets louder and more pleasing. It’s so addictive that it makes you forget how injudiciously this flagship Lamborghini sips up gasoline. Read on.

Specifications

Yes, its hunkered-down stance and the use of the sportier kit makes it extremely desirable, but just how long the Lamborghini Aventador measures? Well, as for its overall dimensions, it’s 4,780mm in length, 2,030mm in width, and 1,136mm in height. The wheelbase is a respectable 2,700mm and thanks to the extensive use of light materials, it’s just 1,575kg in dry weight. The fueltank capacity is a mere 90-litres, considering it features a fuel-sipping V12 in the back.

As of early-2020, the Lamborghini Aventador features a BS-IV compliant 6.5-litre V12 at its heart. It is, however, in two states of tune. The V12 engine, in the base-spec S variant, churns out 730bhp and 690Nm of torque. In the LP 700-4 and LP 700-4 Roadster variants, the V12 engine is good for a slightly lower 700bhp of power, while the torque output is the same at 690Nm. The gearbox remains the same throughout all the variants, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. Moreover, the all-wheel-drive layout is also standard across the range.

Mileage

As hinted above, the V12 engine at the heart of the Lamborghini Aventador is an injudicious sipper. Even still, for the curious lot, the Aventador – with its 6.5-litre BS-IV engine – is capable of delivering 5km/l, if driven sanely.

Features

The interiors of the Aventador are a typical Lamborghini affair. Those familiar with any of the new Lamborghinis will found the cockpit-style interiors of the Aventador, well, familiar.

The first mention probably goes to how difficult it is to step inside this cabin, for you have to bend yourself for ingress. Once inside, the materials look nice and the cabin appears to be well-thought-out. The centre console is packed with buttons, which might take some getting used to. There’s a touchscreen too, which can handle all the latest connectivity gizmos.

What’s nice and appealing is the digital instrument cluster, which displays a large tachometer in the middle, while everything else sits on the side. It is configurable and easy to operate.

Colours

The Aventador, as of early-2020, comes in fifteen shades, namely, Arancio Argos Pearl, Giallo Horus Matt, Nero Aldebaran, Blu Glauco, Verde Scandal, Blu Caelum, Rosso Leto Metallic, Nero Pegaso Metallic, Grigio Estoque Metallic, Blu Nereid Metallic, Rosso Bia Metallic, Blu Nila Metallic, Grigio Telesto Pearl, Verde Mantis Pearl, and New Giallo Orion Pearl.
